You can sync the wiimote in sysmenu-read the instructions-it has to do with removing the battery cover pressing the button and then pressing the console red button. ONLY to this if you have 2 or more Wiimotes-leave one of your wiimotes synced to your own Wii-can;t tell the number of times people forgot to resync their own wiimotes, started some softmod and got stuck. You can also use a GameCube controller if you get stuck with a wiimote sync problem

I hope you did not install preloader.
    1. If you did not install IOS60patched-do it now:go to HBC, use Wad Manager-use defaults IOS249 and SD card slot...click on WAD line choose and install IOS60patched.
    2. I do not want to go thru network/Internet stuff with you let's just do it offline I presume you have a 3.4U? Click on dogeggs signature graphic-go to sysmenu folder and download sysmenu NTSCU 449. Extract it to your PC HDD copy to SD use Wad Mgr just liske before to install sysmenu NTSCU449.wad
If you have a 3.4E Wii you will chose sysmenuPAL450 instead.
    3. Resume tutorial at Step 5B.

When you are done-to stop bootmii from showing up remove boot.elf and Private folder from SD card. If you made a NAND bakup-keep it safe.
what if i already installed preloader before updating? i went ahead and followed the steps listed in this post..

Oh, that's too bad. What does the screen look like now and to what do you have access?

Ok-you already installed IOS60patched and updated to 4.1, I remember you did that last night. The sysmenu 4.1 overwrote part of the previous preloader install. Now re-install preloader.

This is from the softmod tutorial:
"If you get the 'system files corrupted' screen don't panic, just reinstall preloader and if that doesn't fix it reinstall your current system menu with Wad Manager."
