While doing your softmod you will want a quality 2g sd-card, after that you can use sdhc. It will hold many apps, roms, and such.

can you use sdhc card to hack the wii? and do you know a good quality but cheap and high capacity sdhc card?
if you cannot use sdhc card to hack wii, is 1gb good enough for wii hacking?

No most exploits do not like SDHC cards, they simply bugger out with them and you get unwanted results . so just get a good [sandisk] NON-SDHC card for the mod

i got a 32 gig SanDisk SDHC card for 30 bucks at a local best buy

i am still wondering if you can use a 1gb or less sd card to hack wii.

will a 8gb sdhc card hold enough?

1g or less should be fine. Only way to know is to try, you don't need very much space to hack the wii. It is just weather the software used will read your card, and every software has its particulars.

the size [during hacking] only comes into play really when you are making a NAND backup, the backup takes about 540 megs or so of space, and if there isn't enough room when you start to make the backup *crash*

i may not make a nand backup. I just want homebrew channel. No need to run backup games and things like that. Will a 8gb sd card hold enough apps? i don't want to get more than i need to. I am going to use sandisk to hack.

i had a hard time filling up a 2 gig with enough apps to fill it up, but then again i don't use many apps. just the scumm emulator. emulators themselves are small, and for the most part the ROMS are small too, until you get into the N64 roms then you are looking at 10-60 megs a piece.
