Arrow 4.0, WAD Manager 'ret -1' error when installing WADs, already did Dogegg's tutorial..

I am at a loss for what I should be doing. This is the second Wii I've tried to get hacked out but it is giving me a really hard time. I ran Doggegg's tutorial on getting cIOS's on the thing, can load WAD Manager 1.4 but cannot get any WADs to load. When I select the Wii SD slot it just hangs for a sec and says 'ERROR ret-1". I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a cure. If anyone can help me I would be really, really appreciative.

That error code just translates to can't find file. A number of possible reasons for that: SD card not properly formatted, SD card is SDHC-use SD formatted as FAT32, SD card is not compatible, file is not in right location, file was corrupted in either the download or extraction process.

thats what i've found out while looking around. im not at all sure what i need to do though. ive reformatted the card and re-downloaded WAD Installer. Any advice?

    EDIT:
I figured it out! I was being very, very stupid. I was using two different SD cards, one wasn't formatted right. While I swore I was doing things correctly, I was just reformatting the same card over and over and using the other one. Wow, this may be my dumbest day ever. lol. Thanks!

No problem. If only you could be assured that this will be the dumbest day ever in your whole life-that would be good Thanks for letting me know the source of the problem. Good luck.

I have the same problem with that error ret = - 1 !
I tried a few times to format my SD card but the error still comes.

Could you please tell me how did u format your card ? Used any tool or so ?

Any help would be appreciated as I can't do anything here !

Strange is that I used that exact same card to install HBC,and it seems to run ! I can start some other application as Wad Manager and so !
Just when I want to chose a wad from SD Card...the error occurs !

Duplicate posting is discouraged on this site. I think I just responded to 3 of your posts; I hope there are no more. Posting in one, preferably correct location, makes it easier for people helping you. It minimizes duplicate efforts-there's a lot more of you needing help than those providing it. Also, posting just in the related forum thread (once it is identified, I know you are new) helps identify what you are doing, what guide is being used, and where you are in the process.

For example, one of your posts left out a clue to the problem that you provided in a post in another area-I just saw it now. That was not very helpful to me and does not show that you value my time.

Sorry that I gave you this impression gen3sf,
honestly I value and appreciate your time and help, and really thanks for that.
I know you posted and answered in a few post already, and I was glad about it.

I found this threat here a day after my,and this user had the same problem as me with that error,so I posted here in hope he could provide me with some further info.

It wasn't meant to be disrespectful in anyway.
Sure I am a newbie, but this is not apologize for me,I will try better.
I was just thinking it widens my chances of help by posting in several threats as diffrent people might see it.

I tried to fix the problem with my wii for the last days,I am not sure which clue I left out that I then provided in another post.
My head is so full of that, that I might overlooked or forgot something.
Sorry about that,I know it wasn't helpful.

I am not an English native speaker so maybe it expressed my self not so well
Again, sorry about that...hope you can understand that it wasn't meant in a bad way me posting in several threats in the hope to solve the problem.
