    Quick Question About USB Drives.

I have searched the fourms but couldnt find any information on using two USB harddrives with the WII. There are two usb ports on the back if it. So heres my problem. I just bought a 500gb HD to play my backup games, and everythign is working fine, then after looking around a little more i noticed that you can also play emulators. My SD card is to small to add roms to so i want to play them from a USB harddrive. I tried to add files to my 500gb hardrive but it will not open in windows due to the file system that is installed on it. So i was wondering if i could buy a smaller harddrive and format it FAT32 and plug that into the other usb port int he rear and install my emulators there if that will work? I just want to know if it will before i go buy a hard drive and try it out for my self.

You can only use one HDD. Most people have muliple partions, WBFS, NTFS, and Fat32.
Format on PC then use WBFS manager to format one of the partitions. All should be primary.

I read somewhere that if you use a hard drive, it has to be on the USB port that is on the same side as the SD card. If you use a hard drive and plug it into the other USB port, it will not work.

A friend of mine is using a 1.5TB drive in his and I haven't heard any complaints. Where did you read that they only work with 512GB drives? There's a compatibility list at: USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp and it lists 1.5TB drives as working. Maybe it can only work with a 500GB partition? That I'm not sure about.

i have searched these forums for USB hard drives and i was reading all of the posts and a few of them said that only certain HD's will work and only up to 512gb. I would much better have a 1TB or 1.5TB drive. That list is awsome thanks for all the information, looks like i will be getting a new HD and try that out.
