Getting Homebrew Apps on the Wii Menu

Is it possible?

I have downloaded several emulators, but can only load them up by going through the Homebrew Channel

Is there no way these titles can appear on my Wii Menu?

You can install the emulators on the wii system menu. i WOULD NOT recommend it to first time hackers as it could brick your wii. If you still want to do it install bootmii as either BOOT2 or IOS, make a nand backup and install preloader.

Just google the name of the emulator and add .WAD and use wad installer 2.1
OR

Just download the VC game and install it with wad installer 2.1
GET VC GAMES HERE

I hope I don't sound like an idiot here, But seeing as Wiis are already capable of running downloaded N64 games from the wii shop channel [natively] in the first place, why is an N64 emulator on even needed?

I tried that with the Scumm emulator ( in .dol format ) and it doesnt work - thats why I tried installing from the Homebrew Channel

You're right an emulator is not always required.

I recently installed Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario as a channel, they just install as WAD files and appear as channels.

there are a number of games that are not available as downloadable content. also, in terms of system resources, each title downloaded from the wii shop channel (to my knowledge) contains its own emulator. This can take up a lot of space if you are trying to add a collection of all the good games from SNES and N64. by using an emulator one only needs the executable code stored once, leaving more room for ROM game files

He's right, eventually all those games installed can take up a fair amount of blocks up.

Stick to an emulator and load each game as you play it :)

Thanks, makes a lot of sense now. I read somewhere as well that it's also possible to run downloaded VC games off an external device. That would also be convenient.
