I think the newest wiis on the market are D3-2 Boards. They can be softmodded but you can't load Backups from DVD so you must use a USB Loader. Though this doesn't mean every Wii out there will be D3-2 Board. The only way to know is to open it up. Although the Serial Number can give you a clue.
can u pls tell me which serial numbers corresponds to a given version of wii....
