Sounds like you did it right, and it is working. Not sure about your random disk error, probably just a fluke.

    Thanks for the help mauifrog....
I want to make sure it's running right now if you answer this for me...

1)When I turn my wii on now I don't have to press "A" anymore it does
it automatically? loads right into the systemmenu. (want to make sure it's normal)

2)I know you said you don't know about the shop channel, now when I press start it freezes and I have to turn it off than on again.

    3) anything neat you know I can load? to play?

I was hoping to have the shop channel up so I can get some old games but it's not working

    Thanks!

1- sounds like you have disabled the safety screen from preloader hacks- this is ok if you like it.

2- Follow up with the shop channel in the thread you followed to install it.

    3- emuparadise.org- roms and emulators

Put some old emulators in your homebrew and download all the roms you need. Install your homebrew easily from the Homebrew Browser. If you need wiiware look at All NTSC-U Wiiware to date and virtual console!!! for wads, make sure they are in your region. Also consider loader form usb, Usbloader GX

    Thanks mauifrog....
It looks like dogeggs shopchannel update is old or something that dosn't work with the latest update we had a couple weeks from nintendo

I went to wii brew website WiiSCU - WiiBrew

There I downloaded (under which version to download) I downloaded
WiiSCU v0.22 (for anyone using 4.1 and earlier)

I unzipped the file and have 3 folders
    1)apps
    2)source
    3) readme.txt

In the (apps) you open and have another folder (wiisystem channel updater) and in that file you have (boot.dol, icon.png, meta.xml)

In the (source) file you have folder (build)(data)(source) and files(makefile, wiisystem channels updater.pnproj, wii system channels updater.pnps) If I open Up (build) you have (*nothing) you open up (data) you have (haxx.certs) If you open up (source) you have like 7 files (http.c, http.h, installer.c, patches.c, patches.h, patchmii_core.c, patchmii_core.h and rignadal.c)

My question is where do I put these files???
Ok I'm sure you put the apps folder in the SD card labeled apps but what about the source file with all that stuff in it? do I create a file in the sd root labled source?

Than what go through homebrew and click on wii channel updater and that's it? Nothing else?
    Thanks for any help!

You don't need the source unless you are going to modify it and recompile the program. Just use the apps.

    Thanks mauifrog!!!!
I've tried the shop channel the new one update and still the screen goes black.
I've read other places where people have problems and a dialog comes up saying you have to update from nintendo.

Mine goes black, before I installed homebrew and the other stuff I also got that message saying I have to update to acces the shop channel.

You think it has something to do with settings in either preloader? (reminding you I was getting the black screen before loading preloader I think? can't really remember if I tried shop before installing preloader)

something with my settings in ios loaded or not loaded?
    any ideas?
    Thanks

    Mauifrog....
Thanks for all your help! I got the shop channel working last night via installing ios61 (being new at this, really don' know what it means) all I know it's working!!

Thanks for being patient with me and treating me with respect and understanding!

You said previously put some emulators and roms I need. Can you explain this a little to me?
What emulators and what are roms to them and how does the process work?

Thanks again for the help and if you can guide me from here. Thanks

emulators emulate legacy gaming systems such as nes, snes, sega, ect. They can be run on your computer, your phone, and your wii among others.

Roms are copes of the games used by these legacy system which can be played within the emulated system.

So if you want to play super ninitento on your wii, put a homebrew snes emulator and some roms on your sd card and play.
