You could do step 5 before 4, but then you would screw your wii up again. Come on, wii in the would would you think step 5 would need to be done before step 4- they are sequential for a reason. Read the guide again, good luck.

I must be dumb as a rock or something but mauifrog am I reading this right???

    Step (4) says:

    4. UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM MENU VERSION (OPTIONAL)

This step is optional unless you are on 3.3 or 3.4, you may upgrade now if you wish, boot2 v4 owners cannot downgrade! but can upgrade if you want. If you want to update to 4.1 then make sure you have at least 250 blocks free or you will brick, install IOS60-patched first (step 5a), then run Firmware Updater 4.1. If you are on 3.3 or 3.4 then you must update.

IT says right there in the step 4 at the end to do step (5a) first and intall the is60 patch (and please explain how I patch it please)

Am I right or wrong? I'm saying the guide says do 5a first than upgrade to 4.1, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. Of cource I know how to count in order 1,2,3 etc.

    Thanks

    Thanks Mauifrog,
I've learned a lot from you.
One more question before I continue from step 4 or (5a) 1st.

Should I run step 3 trucha bug load ios36 than downgrad ios15 than load it again. Than run d) Run cIOS38 r14 installer, select IOS36 ?

Just to make sure It was run before I messed up step 4 a couple days ago?
Because I don't know how to check if it was done right?
Wil I mess anything up if I run step 3 again to make sure it was done right?
Or is there a way I can see that it's already done?

I went to wad manager (for step 5a) and have default ios259 and selected sd, selected wad, and at the bottom I have the option to select the ios60-patch.wad. (I haven't pressed ok yet, wanted to check 1st if you think I should run truncha bug 1st or if there's a way to see If I've done it already and right)

Thanks, I hope this is last question from me. I appriciate your patience I'm just a very detailed person, I like to read and read and read before I do something I'm not to familure with.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your help!
couple questions if you can assist or anyone....Please....

    1) Is it safe to contiune with step 5 and load Preloader? (because it bricked me before when i was on 3.1u)

    2) step 5(d) says to load those ios:
    IOS38-64-v3610
    IOS50-64-v4889
    IOS53-64-v5149
    IOS55-64-v5149
    NeoGammaR7
but I already did when I bricked and I have neogramma r7 channel etc.
How do I make sure all those ios are loaded already and should I do it again?
Please let me know how to proceed.
    Thanks

Install preloader, you will be fine now that you have the patchedios60. The other ios should still be there if you already installed them, but you can do it again to sure if you have doubts. You don't need to reinstall neogamma as it is already there.

    Preloader is important.

you should also look into the usb loader gx, it will load fast than disks and be more convenient when setup. Good to here you got it sorted out.

Thanks mauifrog for all your help!
I posted a new thread because I'm having problem with the shop channel and photo channel.
I click on shop channel and than click load and it loads and restarts back into the main menu!!!

I did dogeggs update on the bottom of his page for the shopchannel 4.2 I downloaded and installed in my wad file, loaded through wad manager and it said success or ok.

I than tried again and still doing the same thing. Any ideas? I went to settings and agreed to the shop channel to make sure it wasn't that.
I know I loaded it right through wad manager.
Again thanks for allllllll your help!

Good luck with the shop channel, I don't even know what it does- never clicked on it, haven't accepted Nintendo terms to use it.

    We'll I've got a problem again!!!
I went to load preloader and hit 1 on the remote it loaded it said this...

    found signiture patch
    patch ios60 successful
    checking for preloader
preloader not found, moving system menu
    done!
    installing preloader
    install done, load preloader...wait 5s....
(all this looks the same as on the video in the soft mode so this looks right)
It wouldn't reboot by itself, I had to restart after waiting 30 minutes...

I had to hold the reset button down to enter preloader...
I went into system hacks changed what I was to change and saved and went into settings
autoboot: was already on system menu and at the bottom it said system menu ios21???
IN the video in softmode it shows that at ios60

So I saved and now it won't turn on again!!! I have to hold reset to get into preloader and from preloader get into system menu.
    Please help!
I wasn't going to install it but you said it was important, I'm sure it's something minor.
I don't want to use the same files you told me before without asking since I'm on 4.1U now.
    Please let me know
    Thanks

    Ok Mauifrog,
What I did was in the settings of preloader I changed the ios to ios60 and saved rebooted and it's fine now. I didn't know I could change because when I watched the video it showed that when settings was hit, it was already on ios60 and didn't need to be changed.

I hope I did the right thing seeing it's loading or turning on right. The one thing I did notice is , the music is a little softer, and didn't read my clean store bought disk (said disc error) I tried again and worked 2nd time.

Let me know if there's something I need to do.
    Thanks
