New wii 4.1u keep getting stuck

I have spent several hours reading on softmods and decided to go with

I followed the PDF to the letter. When I would get to the CIOS249 I would get the error ret= -1035

After reading up on that I was pointed to a 2nd way to mod. So I tried to follow

I follow the directions format sd card and place the files but as soon as I launch Load boot.elf it freezes in the next splash screen that says "This soft must not be sold...."

Any advice...

I have a New Wii 4.1u wifi is setup but diabled. System skill functions normally just cant get it to mod.

bootmii as IOS is less useful. Not accessible in a complete brick as you need to have access to HBC to use bootmii in this case. The NAND backup is made mostly as a last ditch effort to recover a Wii and in the hopes that future bootmii versions might be able to use it. Preloader becomes your more important source of protection.

So my next step is try to figure out how to install bootmii as non Ios

hmm.. after a restart now the homebrew channel is not showing any options just sits there with the bubbles scrolling by

During the install of bootmii, the available install options are identified. If boot2 is not available, there is no way to change this. Nintendo has blocked this.

HBC shows only bubbles because you have no Homebrew apps in the Apps folder on the SD card.
