quick unbricking question

iv orderd a drivekey to unbrick my semi brick but im being told you cant unbrick unless the chip has autoboot..

is this correct?

A Semi brick means that your wii is almost 100% functional except that you cannot access the wii Settings. I believe you're talking about a bannerbrick. Unless the chip is already set up to autoboot then you won't be able to boot a disc.

so, i need it set to autoboot before i can get anythin to boot from savemiifrii? thanks

Yes that is correct once your modchip is set to autoboot, you just put the desired disc and do the savemiifrii trick.
