    Simple mistake

Hello all this is my first post on these boards, my question is i soft modded my wii with bannerbomb and i installed preloader (first thing i did) however since my wii is newer i could not install it as a boot2 so im not able to reach the menu while holding down reset and i have accidentally bricked my wii using the IOS61 installer, i did previously have cIOS249 installed well my question is since i bricked installing another IOS is cIOS249 still present in my system? i am asking this since i have found that as long as i have cIOS249 on my system i will be able to use the Universal Unbrick Disc to fix my wii if it helps any i also installed the dvdx. Thank you for your help!

*edited i installed preloader and bootmii but i have realised preloader is the app that has menu access from the reset button*

you dont get to bootmii with the reset button, that is for preloader. You get bootmii by having the files on your SD card, but its useless to you as its an IOS.

So, you have no preloader, or bootmii, and no modchip. You should search for savemii/savemiifrii.

you can try the UUD v2, but i have yet to meet anyone who has managed to boot it without a chip.

TBH i think your wii is now a large white and useless brick, unless you have luck with savemii or the UUDv2. Your only other chance is an autobooting modchip, not sure if that will help you either.

EDIT after your edit: can you access preloader then? by holding reset then powering on?

No, I am not able to access preloader i have alot of experience in the modding scene but mostly in xb360 i might have to buy a modchip to fix it in this case

I do know of the savemiifrii which is a modified GC controller and was planning to go this way my question was just does cIOS249 stay on the system no matter what? (i am sure that I did not delete it, just not sure if the wii may have deleted it)

It should be there! but, it all depends on exactly how you bricked your wii to be honest.
