Do I HAVE to install DVDX? I don't plan on watching DVD's on my Wii. Even if I did, isn't it bad for the lens?

Great thank you!
One more question (I hope)... when I booted the elf off the SD, BootMii said "Can be installed" in green text. Now I don't know if I should install it to IOS or boot2. It is not really clear in the guide if you don't get an error what to do.
ALWAYS install to boot2 IF YOU CAN and if you do you don't need to install the IOS.
ONLY install the IOS if you can't install to boot2.
Ok got it. Now for the SD card is asks for, can I use the same card I put the original files on?
edit: nevermind seems to have been fine :) THANKS!!!
weird, I installed BootMii as boot2, and following the instructions for backing up the nand aren't working. I'm at the wii channels, i insert the SD card used when installing BootMii to boot2, but its not autoloading the boot2. Am I missing something?
Your sd card must be in the wii and have a bootmii folder with three files in it. With that sd card in the wii, turn off your wii and turn it back on.
haha that did it :) thanks again!
DVDx just allows you to play DVDs and Backup Gamecube Games ;)
or actually more to the point, it allows your Wii to "see" the games instead of not noticing them at all...
