    Wii Connect24 - 2 questions

Loaded HBC on a 3.3e. OK. Loaded USB configurable Loader 1.5 connected to a fujitsu/siemens 500Gb 25EV820. OK. Converted a stack of games to WBFS. OK. Now I want to start using the wii Connect24 so I would like to ask these two questions:

    1) is preloader used in any way to change the settings of automatic updates to the wii firmware.

    2) are there any settings within wii connect24 that need to be selected/disabled to prevent accidental updates etc

I've read that when using connect24 that if an update is available it will ask you whether you want to load it. I want to try and make sure my kids don't click yes by mistake.

Many thanks to all you knowledgeable people.

First off preloader does not work with 3.3 or 3.4 systems.

Preloader only blocks updates from discs. Don't know about the settings I believe there is a thread by Favs about using parental controls to keep from updating but did not read thoroughly.

I read FAV's advice but it's originally a 2007 post. The Nintendo site parental controls guide has a section called "Online communiation and User created content". In that section it has the following:

"Note that system updates will be delivered regardless of this setting."

So it seems that these controls may only affect which type of wii games are played and not Nintendo's ability to see which FW you are using and updating it. I only want to see if I can safely stay on 3.3 AND be able to use the internet stuff so if anybody is or was in the same position I'd appreciate any advice.

    Cheers

I was talking about this link but yeah turn out they still deliver updates. Sorry never read the post myself since I have it where when I turn on my wii it automatically loads USb loader gx, so my son can't go to wii menu and update it.
More worried about my wife than my son updating.
