    Another Newbie here! And so there is another question :)

    Hey there guys.

    Great forum here! Read a lot of posts.
    But still i have a question!

    I have a Softmodded Wii with 3.4e. I used the Twilight Princess save hack to install the homebrew channel and thats al i have done.(and that was over 4 or 5 months ago (could be longer or shorter :-P))
    So since 4.2 of the Wii software is out most of the homebrew doesn't work (yet).

    And my question is then:
    How do i update to 4.1e without using the Nintendo Update Service? Must i use this guide?

    I hope you guys can help me with this!

    Greetings,

    XSilverlink

    there is a lot of info on upgrading, I posted a similar q a few days ago here

    in which I mention the guide here.

    I also went for the gx loader as well and all had been fine (other than GH5 which required some other cios to be installed, but search for that)

    I had already had the latest hbc (I got the prompt once and let it update itself) but its not required. The guide mentions that HBC is a prerequisite.
    The only thing I done differently was install bootmii as I never had it before and its useful to have;

    hit thanks if this helps

    yep, as mentioned in my original post, mine was on 3.2e (bought with 3e or 2.xe, but either way has always been a pal euro wii). I had no probs so no need to worry!

    If i look into the wiibrew forum they say the Waninkokos firmware updater 4.1 is giving more problems than it fixes. Dunno what.
