I am stuck...do I need to get a legi copy of Indy?

This all start with my stupidity that I semi-bricked my Japanese wii. It is a early version Wii with WiiKey 1 (I guess) installed. At the time I realized I shouldn't do that, I turned off the Wii. Which leaves me a broken IOS. Then I went through tons of articles, and finally rescued it to 4.0J. I think I have installed CIOSCROP from some article. I then changed the sys menu to 4.0U and did the update thru N. Luckily enough, that nite, N pushed 4.2. And I updated to 4.2 and stuck with no HBC and lost the ability to play burned game.

Now, I try to install the newest bannerbomb but I got stuck with "Cannot Continue" message. Probably the reason is now I have installed cioscrop. I found some articles talking about installing WAD manager to overwrite the CIOS. But it needs HBC in the first place to launch WAD, and I can't install it by bannerbomb.

Do I have to get a legi copy of Indy or Smack to install the HBC before I can do anything?

Yes. In fact I was following that guide, getting the bannerboom files into SD. But when trying to load the installer, I got this screen (except the version number is different) http://i35.tinypic.com/w0t2f9.jpg

which stops me installing any HBC, DVDx at all.

no other hack will help you. you will need HBC as a wad

there is bannerbomb, leave indy alone

Save your money-you don't need Indy.
