    now what?

    hello,
so i completed the full 4.2 hack from messie-thanks man-and now i dont know exactly what to do, haha.. ultimately i would like to play burnt games and/or play backups from an external hd.. what do i need to do?

for burnt games: i have a bunch of verbatim dvd+r's, but the guide said i should be using -r's.. is that ok? (ill eventually switch cuz i hear -r's are less strain on the laser than +r's)

for external hd: i have a 320GB external seagate, but with a bunch of music.. i know a stupid question, but should i just get another external if i want to play back ups so i dont lose my music?

another note, every time i log in HBC theres an update from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6.. since updates are kinda bad sometimes, should i go through it? im on 4.2u btw

    thanks for reading!

1)u should use -r's, if you cant wait, use a +r for now, but change it, you dont want to ruin the laser, do you?
2)You can use your HDD but it will be a little tiring process, well worth it tho, if you ask me. back up your music, format the disc with fat32, then split it in two pieces, the first one should be primary and active. Size is up to you, but bear in mind, in the first part we ll put the wii games, so make it adequately big. 100G at least, as games are 2-4 Gigs, best ones are 4. So, then u format the first part with WBFS manager, put the games in it, in second part, u put the music, and u can alos use it for your homebrew apps, wads, usbloaderGX covers, emulators.... so kinda rocks.

You can also play your music with it, you must install ios202 for this reason see
    this MPlayer CE - WiiBrew
you can put the app in teh second partition, and the files also and play them from there, also movies and stuff, DVD palyback not supported for now i guess.

    3) you can update the HBC no problem

The HBC channel update is a bug fix and perfectly fine, if your interested in a new external HDD I recommend a Western Digital My Passport Essential it works flawlessly and I've never experienced any problems with it.

For DVDs Verbatim DVD-Rs are the recommended ones to use for both Wii and GC backups.

As for playing your backups the choice is yours both have their advantages and disadvantages.

    no chip needed.

If you followed the 4.2 guide fully, then just load your games from neogamma r7 and they should play fine.

Burn the iso at a low speed so that theres less chance of errors occuring.
