First let me say thank you for your patience and help with my questions.

I have installed and followed the tutorials steps.

I am still having probkems with loading my backup's.

I am using PHillips dvd-r's but I realize eveyone bosts the benifits to using verbadum dvd's, so I may try that..

You hit on another one of my post'. Which was to upgrade or not to upgrade, thisi is the question?. I will try to upgrade using the tutorial/wad but at this time I am not connected to the internet. I am having more trouble with my Linksys router than with my wii if you can beleive that from all my newbie questions.

    ANyway, i appreciate the assistance.

I can provide you a link so you can perform the 4.1 Update offline. Just need to confirm what version for the link is your Wii a 3.3U or 3.3E?

No, do not allow your Wii access to the Nintendo servers for a system update-you will be updated to 4.2. Go to your Wii settings-upper right hand corner-the letter right after 3.3.

The message you read was before the 4.2 update.

Are you actually clicking on the links to the tutorials I provided? Perhaps the term tutorial is throwing you off-the softmod tutorial has a softmod download pack, just as the cIOS installer tutorial provided the TBR and the cIOS installer. If you followed the tutorial how to install cios on any wii-in Step 5, you already installed cIOS38rev14-it installs in slot 249 and so it sometimes referred to as IOS249rev14.

Our tutorials provide the needed apps and wads:New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii - Page 385.

Follow the softmod tutorial - I believe you competed Step 3. Install IOS60patched using Wad Manager. Extract the rar file from this link: SystemMenu-NTSCU-v449.rar. Copy the Wad file to the Wad folder of your SD card.
Use Wad Manager to install sysmenu 4.1 NTSCU449.

To continue with the softmod tutorial, you will go oon to Step 5b.
