    Frustrated: Wii Shop, Black Ops

First let me start by saying that I've been here for 3+ years and greatly appreciate the help and guides provided by Wiihacks. I've modded my wii, and several other wiis for friends and family.

My son who last used his wii a year ago, decided yesterday that he wanted to use his wii again. Upon playing he realized that there were many back ups that he had yet to finish playing.

(before going any further, I'd like everyone to know that I'm fully aware of the "troublesome games, black ops, and wii shop help guides/threads."

I used to play COD Black Ops online. I decided that hey i was bored why not play again. I loaded the game without any issues (it was already set to load with the 250 ios) went to the mutli player section (which i've used a few years ago on multiple occasions) and came across an update that Black Ops need some "74 blocks needed". So i chose to update from the game, waited and waited maybe 30 minutes went by and nothing happened. I went to the threads which explain about the updates and came across the wii shop update was needed. Found the wii shop section followed the instuctions for online install, went to MMM, wii channels, load ios 236 etc etc as I was waiting for it to install it said error. After having multiple fails, i decided to reinstall all the wads, apps basically part 2 down from the ultimate guide to hacking your wii. I formatted and reinstalled everything. Went back to find that all my game covers were now gone, i can easily reinstall. And went to Black Ops, swith ios to 250 just to find that it won't load stating an error press any buttom to return to menu. Went to the Cios Wad "mothballed" installed the entire pack, batched etc... now COD won't load at all with ios 250. If I leave it alone and load with 249 black ops loads up fine, but the the usual "loading.,..,...,...." on the black screen happens and I can't get into the game. I'm writing this in this section because I originally did this to simply download the update for black ops, got sent to up date wii shop and now I'm at a worst position. I didn't want to double post in black ops and wii shop update thread. So if this needs to be moved, mods just tell me where to go.

I'm not a noob, but I sure am far from being an expert.

I know that I messed up somewhere. I just don't know where. I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Post a syscheck so we can see if the mod is still good or if you will have to remod your system.

Directions on how to generate and post a syscheck are linked in my signature.

I don't have an additional sd card. So it is just quicker to re mod my wii. Should I go back to the complete softmod guide and start from scratch?

Not sure what you mean by "an additional SD card". If you have an SD card that you used to mod your system, you can use it to run syscheck and get the output saved to it.

We would ask that you reformat the SD card anyway on a remod before and during the process, so if you have any data you want saved, you should back it up, and adding new temporary data to the card before the format will be deleted anyway.

I sent my reply in the proper section. (Need Help? Post your system check here) I'm not trying to double post, just want to make sure that the mods understand that I made a mistake and didn't know how to properly create a spoiler tag. Thanks for your help.

Hi Wiihacks staff. I'm not sure if my post was missed, or if I did something wrong, but I want to assure you that if I did wrong by double posting it only happened because I was confused. It was an honest mistake.

I read the section that said

"Bumping - If no one has got to you yet there IS a slim chance it was missed.. probably not.. As we answer what we know. so if we dont know, We will leave it for someone else or atleast contact another Staff member for assistance. So WAIT and be PATIENT!You can bumpAFTER 24hrs! and that it!!! I will infract/ban/scold/kick your dog/delete any users who abuse this after warnings...."

It's been over 48hours and I had many views to my question without any answer. Please understand that I am in no way demanding an answer nor do I feel entitled to an answer. I just want to make sure that I did my system check post correctly and it was viewed and that I'm not being ignored for something that I did wrong. If I did do something wrong, please let me know so that I don't do it again. If this results in my question not being answered I completely understand. I just would like to know if I should be expecting an answer or not. Please understand that I do not want to come off arrogant, just have a few kids I babysit during the afternoon that are bored and upset that their wii isn't working properly and wanted to know what to do about it.

Once again I really appreciate any help I can get on this.

Here's a link to my system check question thanks again you guys rock!

Sorry, I did miss this. I looked at the new syscheck, and it looks good now. Can you say again what the problem is, in case it is different now than it was at the start before you remodded?

Last I read is that it refuses to load on 250, and while initially appearing to load, hangs on 249. That's if I'm reading it right (and if no change).

Syscheck looks good. Reading through the first post and then the rest of the thread, you did all kinds of crap that really wasnt necessary or recommended, and it sounds like you succeeded in screwing things up more than what they were initially (considering you confused the hell out of me in describing what you did).

Being your syscheck looks good, sounds like you have loader problem (you didnt mention what loader you were using). Use GX. Set Global IOS to 249 and save. In game settings for Black Ops select Load IOS 250 and save. Try loading.

And BTW, didnt the Black Ops servers get shut down like all the rest of them? I havent tried since then, but thats what I thought...

EDIT: Sorry guys had this open a long time (dealing with kids) and didnt see you responded...oh well

True enough, the WIFI component likely means it won't play online (didn't think about that mainly because I don't have time to play single player campaign, let alone online matches). Mama can dress me up, but she sure as hell can't take me anywhere, lmao!
