using a double USB hard drive

hi everyone im new here. i plan, very soon, to mod my wii to backup the games i own. my first question involves an external hard drive that uses 2 usb ports. can i store my games and play them from this hard drive on a softmodded wii? or does it have to be a single USB hard drive? thx in advance

If the dual-USB is meant to drive extra power to the drive but data only goes through one of them, then it "should" work, though it really wouldn't be supported by anyone since it's not a normal configuration. As long as the data port is in the bottom USB slot and the top one is just drawing power, it may work.

If data flows through both, then it won't work.

See the FAT32 guide linked in my signature for more information on formatted and installing content to a hard drive, which assumes you've modded your system with Softmod Any Wii guide (both guides are linked in my signature).
