    Angry HDD formatting issue

    Afternoon all.

Recent convert to the world of Softmodding. Successfully completed via YouTube. Game 'acquired' and copied onto HDD, via WPFS. Game works fine. However, when I plugged HDD back into hub, for copying more games, it told me I had to format it before I could carry on. Of course, this removed the game I'd already copied over. How do I solve this little problem?

Also, if I'm wishing to copy movies from PC > HDD, do I need another bit of software, or just drag & drop?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    Mr Leg

WBFS is a format that Windows doesn't recognize natively. If you had not formatted the drive, your WBFS manager would have found the game just fine.

But FAT32 is the recommended format for USB devices, with a guide on how to do it and load content linked in the post above, and in my signature.

Ta for the reply, nightstah. The Youtube, or indeed You-Fail, method worked ok for me...so far. As for the HDD issue, that has now been resolved. Seems it was the NTFS/FAT32 configuration.

As to my other point, what do I need to do, in order to watch movies etc through the Wii? Drag & drop onto the HDD, or use another program?

**just seen your response llaffer. Thanks**

If it had worked for you, you'd not have posted this. Instead, you came here for support. Advice (sound advice, at that) was offered to remedy your woes or issues. YouFail guides are static, and seldom updated. If a YouTube guide instructed you to use WBFS for example, keep in mind for like four years now we have recommended FAT32.

As to media playing WiiMC is generally recommended. Just keep in mind the Wii doesn't support high definition video, etc.

My apologies, Nightstah. I hadn't realised the Youtube versions were static. I'm new to all this, learning as I progress.
With that in mind, I assume that if I follow the link you provided to "softmod any Wii", I should be able to install those files, etc over the one I've already done?

Thanks again for your help and advice.

Yep, read the guide (it answered that question you just asked, for example).
