Newly softmodded wii unable to play ripped games.

    Hi,

I used the Mod ANY Wii guide earlier today and didn't have any problems going through it, everything seemed to go fine, no errors or anything like that. After finishing I attempted to install some of my games to the HDD which I had formatted to FAT32 with cluster size 32kb as I was intending to install my old gamecube collection as well.

Anyway the problem first arose when I tried to install from the original disks, the first few I tried kept failing at around 75 %. Those disks are a bit worn out so I tried another and I managed to get to 100% with Mario Galaxy. I thought this was it but when I tried to launch the game I only get a black screen. The black screen kicks in just after the title screen. The one where you see the name of the game and get a little soundbite before you press play to load it. This screen was fine. When I tried with wiiflow there was even what looked like a grey loading bar on the black screen but even after I waited for half an hour nothing happened.

The power and reset buttons don't work once the screen blacks out too so it has to be plugged out before it will work again.

I've been looking through the forums to see if I can work out whats gone wrong but theres a lot of content and black screen is a pretty vague search term so Im posting here in the hopes that some kind soul might give me a nudge in the right direction.

Oh and in case it makes a difference the wii was running 4.3e before the mod and the USB I'm using is on the list of compatable ones on this site.

Any advice you could give would be much appreciated and sorry for being a bit rambley Im not sure what info might help and what's useless.

Thanks for the help, I think I've got it worked out now. As far as I could tell it was a problem with the disk drive itself. I made an ISO on my computer and and put it on the USB and its working perfectly now.
