No need for that. If it's on the SD, it's good.Second question, do I need to put another version of usb loader GX on another HDD (it's already on the SD card) in other words can I skip parts of the guide "USB loader with Dios Mios"
Precisely so. Dios Mios will only read FAT, so you're stuck with one of three possible cases:I understand that I possibly can't use the same HDD due to the NTFS partition.
1) BAD: use your software of preference to shrink the NTFS partition and then create a FAT32 partition in the free space. It would be the best and easiest solution, if it worked all the time. Data loss is VERY likely.
2) NOT SO BAD: get a larger SD. Cheaper than a new HDD, and 32GB will give you about 20-30 games if you use DiscEx or GCReEx.
3) GOOD: get a new HDD, format it to FAT32. Or, if you're happy with your NTFS setup, format one part of the disc to FAT32 (it must be the first partition) and the rest to NTFS.
Thanks for the info, I still have an old 160Gb Hdd from a laptop formatted to being a dos startup drive (for trouble shooting purposes of my PC's) with a USB controller attached to it... can use that one if needed... I guess 160Gb will be big enough for my GC backups.
I also noticed that usb loader works fine with usb thumbdrives, so that is an option as well, (still some 32Gb one spare somewhere).
Most important is the tweak for making all work on the european Wii. As you call the video patch... you mean the setting in the USB loader I guess.. Also in this case I can leave the USB loader GX on the sd card and put all other stuff on the usb drive as you explained me..

Yeah, it's the USB loader's setting. If I had too many games from another region, I'd set the general video setting to "Console Default". It doesn't do anything with the games from the right region and should work for most--hopefully all--of the others.
One more question usb related before I start modding mIOS:
If I have the Hdd with the NGC games at USB1 (or 0) and a wired USB controller in USB2 (or 1), will I be able to use this USB controller to play the games (I will also use nmm) or do I really need an original NGC controller (that would suck, it is almost dead and I have a great Logitech one)..
I second your question. I do know the alt versions of d2x will allow you to use both ports, but I don't think Dios Mios will let you do that. I snagged a couple (used, obviously) official controllers off eBay back in July for US$56.88 including shipping to Brazil. The controllers themselves were $15 each, which is a great price considering both were near mint.
