Problems Running GC games through both SD and USB

I've been attempting to boot GC rips through both Configurable USB Loader and WiiFlow, with little to no success.

When using Dios Mios 2.10 with my HDD, games instantaneously boot to a black screen.

When using Dios Mios Lite 2.10 with my SD, games give the "Error, please shut off Gamecube" (I paraphrase) error after I close the dialogue box indicating that no memory card has been located.

I'm completely unsure what the issue with the HDD could possibly be. I am using it in FAT32 32kb format, with DiscEX formatted games. I have attempted booting with "no disc" and "nmm" (enabled and disabled). All games are in a "games" folder on the drive's root. I appear to have taken all of the necessary steps.

I am particularly curious about the SD method of booting, the reason being that, on a friend's 16 gig card, we were able to successfully boot games and play them with ease. I'm not interested in "trying a different SD card", as I just purchased this one, and I see no reason why there should be a fatal internal error causing the card to be incompatible with a file in this setup. The card was stock formatted to FAT32, which is what my friend's card was formatted to at the time of our success. I've attempted to load games with both a 32kb and 64kb cluster size. Likewise, I've attempted "no disc" and "nmm" (enabled and disabled), so there must be a component somewhere I am missing.

Thanks for your time and concern, and if additional information need be provided, just let me know what information and how to obtain it. I'm no virtuoso at this!

To SD load with Dios Mios you'd need to install Dios Mios LITE. You cannot load from both SD and USB with either or. Devolution can load from both SD and USB.

Have you consulted our Dios Mios or Devolution guides? If not, I suggest doing so.

As stated above, I am using the correct Dios Mios software for the given devices. Standard with USB, Lite with SD.

I checked the guides, and was reminded of an old problem. My games were stored on the second of two partitions. I moved everything to the second partition, formatted the first partition (FAT32, 32kb, Active, Primary), and put the games back on under "games" in the root. I am still getting a black screen instantaneously after booting.

As previously stated on SD, games boot successfully, but fail after the memory card dialogue box.

Where do you suggest I go from here?

Interesting update. It seems that games loaded from SD are not simply crashing after the memory card dialogue box. It seems that they are crashing after a given period of time (I believe this is about 10 seconds). On Donkey Konga, I was able to get to the mode selection screen, where the music did the classic repeat we all know adumbrates failure. After moving one tile down, the game failed.

On Donkey Konga 2, I was able to get past the safety precautions screen and two of the brand screens before failure.

I have been playing around with different settings (which I admittedly do not know the purpose of), and it seems that the "no disc" feature is the foundational setting. Konga runs on no disc, but won't boot without it. Kongs 2 runs without no disc, and won't boot with it.

Your mod is a bit outdated and a couple of your cIOSs are stubbed (ie, removed). You should go to the Softmod ANY Wii guide and fix that. Just start from Softmods With Homebrew Channel Already Installed.

Seems he also has DarkCorp installed. When it says "optional if you already have 4.3 installed" for IOS-Update, install it anyway to clean those up. We do not recommend the use of DarkCorp IOSs and instead recommend using the normal IOSs from Nintendo.

I followed the necessary steps in the Softmod guide, and am still experiencing the same issues, except the WAD of Dios Mios Lite will no longer install.

Post a new SysCheck so we can see if you did it right.
