    region problems with hombrewchannel/gecko os

    Hello fellow members,

I have this problem that i can't find any answer to by searching intenet and forums. I have a european wii (pal). With Christmas my aunt gave me 8 wii games from america. (original games). But as expected these games are ntsc. (american). After searching the internet i found that you can hack ur system, software based, with the homebrew channel and priiloader. I also discovered that with gecko os it should be possible to play wii games from another region. I installed the homebrew channel, priiloader, homebrew browser and gecko succesfully. In the systemhack of priiloader i enabled the all regions hack. When i use gecko i do force ntsc (also tried not to force it). Never the less whatever i do nothing seems to work. The games are new but the wii cant read the disc. Neither the normal disc channel of wii itself nor the gecko or other loaders i've tried. I've also tried to put the disc in my laptop but it cant read the disc there as well. Can anybody help me out with this problem? Or are the discs just bad? Pal discs still works fine. But with all the ntsc disk i got no dvd or cant read dvd error

I have version 4.3e on the wii.

    thx in advantage

What I would recommend, is mod your system with Softmod Any Wii guide. Then get a USB hard drive and format it as described in our FAT32 guide.

Once you have that, you should be able to install the contents of the disks using the USB Loaders that we give you in chapter 3 of any wii guide.

When in the USB Loader of your choice, and you have installed the games to hard drive, you can modify the run-time settings of those games so the video is "Force PAL".

That should (or with minor tweaks from my general instructions) allow you to play NTSC games on your PAL system.

(I've done similar steps using PAL games on my NTSC system).

oim sorry that was not on purpose i will look after it next time and edit the message ... aah i see it now thx! In the meantime i did installed wiiflow a usb loader... But it seems that he still cant read the ntsc disc.. I will reag the guide also to be sure. Thx again,

New post (edited this previous message): Okay i read your guide downloaded the modpack and the app pack. Homebrew is working good so i dont see the point of doing that over.
Now i do have priiloader running but u said that i needed to reinstall the waps of the modpack, is that correct? Is there anything i should pay extra attention to? since i allready softmod the wii once with another tutorial elsewere (not on the forum). Can i just reinstall or update it with wiimod? I did read the instructions but english isnt my native language so i just want to be sure before i brick my wii In my case will i need 30 waps to install correct or 25?

    Thx

Added:I installed the app pack one of the loaders there did the trick perfectly. I can play all the games now. My aunt will be happy as will i. Thanks for the help!
