Internet really slow with Wii 4.3e

Hi, ever since I have been using this Wii I noticed the internet works at a crawl, even with a decent fast connection.
Not sure why this is but is there any way to speed it up a bit?
Fort instance, it can't play a YouTube video without loading half way through (4-5 times with e.g. 5 minute music video). The router is fine, it reports speeds of 18 Mbps which should be more than adequate to play a YT video.
I wouldn't expect the Wii to have wireless 'n' adaption (it is a few years old) but even at wireless 'g' speeds it should do this properly.

The networking components used in the Wii are not that good. I've heard that if you use the wired Ethernet option with the converter to go into USB the network speeds end up even slower than wireless.

I don't think that there is anything that you can do other than use a different device for your youtube viewing.

Hmmm yes I see that, thanks llaffer.
However, I see on You Tube videos of Wiis doing stuff which seem to be much faster somehow.
Is the RAM/CPU not upgradable at all?

Correct. The Wii has what it has and can't be upgraded.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

Thanks. It plays most YT vids okay, there is about 5% which are higher definition which it refuses to play properly.
