    Updating from 4.1u to 4.3u

I softmodded my wii a year or so back using the guide here. The system worked flawlessly and have been satisfied playing our backed up discs. I decided last night to do an update using the same guide and downloading the updated ios's, etc. I went ahead and did the IOS update as well. When loading the update, all files were successful. I went to the wii menu to see if the version updated and I'm still showing 4.1u. My question is will the update show up in the system menu or do I need to look elsewhere to ensure that I'm operating at a version that's up to date?

While I'm thinking about it, I cannot get bootmii to work from the homebrew channel. When I select it, the screen goes black and the light around the disc opening on the console blinks on and off. I'll search the forum a bit for an answer to this as well. As far as I know, everything has been updated properly as of last night using the guide. I didn't receive any errors and I followed the guide to a "t".

    Thanks in advance

Menu level has nothing to so with how current your cIOSs are. You can have 4.3-like IOSs and still run 4.1 menu (which is what we recommend).

In order to get to bootmii, you have to have the bootmii files on your SD card, which you don't need unless you are on that step in the guide to collect the NAND backup. Once you have it, you won't need bootmii anymore (if you have bootmii installed as boot2, you can use it to restore your backup, but other than that, there isn't anything else that you can do.) If you followed the guide, and you saved the bootmii and NAND backup files, when you did the next step in chapter 2, you formatted the SD card, which deleted everything on the card. So not being able to access bootmii anymore at this time is normal.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. I haven't had any trouble loading and playing games with the exception of COD Black Ops which I see that is one of the problematic games. My disc is still usable but scratched up. No big deal. My main goal was to have everything up to date which it appears that it is.

Thanks again, this is a great site and so is the tutorial.
