    First timer: hackmii down?

    Hello everyone, first timer here.
I have a Wii 4.3K version (working overseas), just bought it a 3 months ago.
I want to softmod it but the first step which was to go to please.hackmii.com (letterbomb)
and enter my MAC address is down or gone. The site doesn't load. Is it down temporarily or gone
    permanently?

What do I do if I can't use letterbomb? Is there another way to do step 1?

Hackmii has been offline for a long time and is out of date.

This link should have everything that you need.

Considering that going to the hack I site is the first step in the guide that you linked, you may confuse the original poster.

The hackmii website has been up and down a lot lately, you just have to check back with it from time to time and hope it is up. There are alternatives that can be run from your machine, but I have never been able to get them working. Just keep trying, then follow the rest of the linked guide when you can.

Ah thanks for the quick replies. So do you think i should just wait and keep trying hackmii site everyday for the next few days? I'm not in a rush so i can wait. Or should I just forget it and go straight to the link provided and use wii brand launcher 8?

When I check the "is it down?" website for please.hackmii.com it says it's up and running and accessible to everyone. But when I load that page, it fails to load. I've tried on several different computers and all same.

Wiibrand is an alternative (as I posted in the "ANY" Wii guide a minute ago)...

I have a question. The entire process has many steps....do I have to do it all at once (in one sitting) or can I do some steps then turn off the wii and continue the next steps later? I'm doing the softmod at work and not sure if i can dedicated 1 hour or so to do it all at once. Is it ok?

The time that takes the longest is getting the NAND backup at the end of Chapter 1.

Once you get all of the files put together at the start of Chapter 2 on your SD card to do all of the .wad installs, the rest of Chapter 2 takes maybe 5-15 min. I would recommend you do all of Chapter 2 at a setting. Other than that, you can stretch things out if you have to.

I'm down to the section where it says:
If updating your IOS, Select "IOS-Update" -Press A

How do i know if I should update IOS or not? My current IOS is 236 v54321
Should I proceed to update the IOS and install all 25 wads? Or skip this part
and go to downgrading my 4.3 to 4.1?
