Skylanders Swap Force working on USB Loader GX?

I know it's a brand new game, but I'm having trouble finding any information on if this is working with the various Wii mods. Thought I would ask about it before investing a heap of money in new Skylanders, portals etc.

This was the guide for getting the first skylanders to work: http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/98...ure-guide.html

I think the same guide was useful for people to get the second game working, so I'd presume that the same guide would still work for this one.

Main things to keep in mind:

    - Make sure your mod is current (see Softmod Any Wii guide if it isn't)
    - Make sure your loader is current (see same guide - chapter 3, or the downloads linked in my signature)
    - Make sure you are using the correct cIOS for the game. That will be part of the guide I linked above. If you use CFG, it has the ability to let you choose AUTO for cIOS to use and it figures it out for you.

    Thanks for the reply mate.

I got Sylanders Giants working for my 6 year old sons birthday 6 weeks or so ago. Swap Force is for my 4 year old son, whose birthday is tomorrow. I guess I will roll the dice and hope it works! If not, looks like it will be a late night reading and tinkering.

If it's the same system, it should be able to be configured the same way.

Let us know if it works and how you were able to do it, so we can use it as a reference for others if they come by asking.

Happy to do so. Will report back.

One last question, hopefully I'm allowed to ask it. If not, please feel free to delete. Has the process for ripping Wii games changed? Our Wii's disc drive has been ruined for a long time because as a toddler, my now 4 year old birthday boy stuffed about 6 discs in there. Since then, we have used USB Loader GX exclusively, as we have no other choice.

Before these 2 Skylanders games in the last month and a bit, I hadn't purchased or even played a Wii game in a long time. With SL:Giants we bought the starter pack with game disc, portal and 3 Skylanders. I had no trouble "obtaining" a copy of that game iso. However, Swap Force for Wii is proving much tougher to "obtain". If I go and buy the Swap Force starter pack with disc, portal and figurines, is ripping the disc a simple process? It's been years since I've done it.

Yes, it's a simple process and most of the more popular loaders support it (USB Loader GX, CFG USB if I recall correctly, and others).

Hmm, I just realised. Without a working Wii disc drive (or a rare Wii readable PC DVD drive) I cant actually do this can I?

I was wondering what your plans were. You can buy a replacement drive on Ebay, just make sure it's the same form factor (D4 = physically smaller and in later production runs; anything prior ie D3-2, D3, etc is a drop in replacement).

Hello all, I've ripped Skylanders, it starts up very well but it will not detect the portal. I've tried the hard wired and the wireless. Please advice. Thanks all
