    Wii power button tactile feedback?

    Hi

I bought a used Wii. It works fine but I wanted to softmod it. That guide requires usage of the hardware buttons during its course. However, I have noticed that my Power Button is not giving any tactile feedback (a sense of being pressed). Is this normal or do I need to repair the power button?

    I am not on Wi-fi.

    Thanks.

If your Wii has GameCube controller ports you could use a GameCube controller instead

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

Thank you for replying. I do not have a Gamecube controller. Can you please tell me if the power button should behave that way?

It shouldn't be, no. A quick tap should move the selector (speaking of when you're using BootMii that is).

    Hi SNES_Master,
No. I haven't physically started with the "Softmod any Wii" guide. I am just reading it & trying to assimilate
as much info before I even touch the thing.

Since Wii goes in the standby mode using the Wiimote I am unable to tell if the power button is actually working
(the console seems to work fine). Is there a way to check if the power button is working alright & wont bail out
    on me mid-process?
The console has an old version of Homebrew & Neogamma, in case there is some program I cna run to check each button.

As long as you can turn the system on and off your power button should be functioning just fine

SNES_Master, maybe I am not making myself clear The system goes in standby (red light) using the
Wii Remote's power button. If I want to wake it up, I press the power button on Wii Remote.

Okay, please tell me if the system is on (green light) & I press the Power button on the console what should
    be the result?

It means the power button has a problem!

Also do tell me (had the power button been normal), when you press the power button on the console
the red light should turn off completely?

No, the red light stays on...if you want the red light to turn off you need to unplug the system.
