    Question USB Loader GX Blackscreen

I have a feeling this question has been asked before, but the answers given were all "update your CIOS", and since I just (2 days ago) softmodded my wii, i believe i have the newest CIOS. The problem is that for some games (working= Mario Party 9 not working= TLOZSS, Rayman Origins) on USB Loader GX when I select a game, it shows a black screen with just the SETTINGS, and START buttons. when I start the game the screen is black for a few seconds, and then I return to the homebrew channel. Do I need to update something, even though I just softmodded my wii? I have tried many different settings, however I don't know if i need a certain combination of "loader" settings.
Some INFO on my wii: I'm using a USB stick, FAT 32, with .wbfs games, 4.3U wii, USB Loader is fully updated, homebrew channel is 1.1.0 IOS58 c24.32
I don't know if I need to post more info here, but if I do please tell me.

    Your syscheck looks good.

What version of GX are you using (not just v3.0, but the revision number, too. Would be something around r1200).

Have you changed versions of GX recently? If so, you may have to delete your global config file and force GX to create a new one.

The default CIOS used to launch a game should be 249, which should work fine with Skyward Sword. If you're not running games off of 249, change the game to run off of 249 or 250 (per the Skyward Sword Guide) to see if that helps.

GX is version r1180, I am going to try all the things you have told me to do and see if it works then.
I have deleted my Global Files, and loaded USB Loader GX to create new ones, and the game still doesn't work.
Im am on 249, and know that the game is working for other people using UsbLoader.
More info: When i use other USB loader (Configurable USB loader, WiiFlow) the game doesn't show up at all.

It also could be a bad rip. Try deleting your copy off of your hard drive, put the original game disk back in the system, and install a new copy to the hard drive.

r1180 is old. If you want to get the more current version, I have a more recent (don't think it's the most recent) version linked in my signature. You'll want to delete your global config file again.

So I updated my USB Loader GX, and deleted by global file. I re installed the game back onto my USB, and it still isn't working. Is there some way I can tell if there is something wrong with my .wbfs game?
Also thanks for all the help IIaffer

reripping the game is one way to check. If you don't want to delete the .wbfs file first, move it to a directory outside of /wbfs. Rip your game, then if it works, something was likely wrong with it

I turns out that is was a combination of having to replace USB loader GX, re ripping the game, and than changing some settings. Thank you very much IIaffer.
