    LetterBomb Question

I'm trying to set up my SD card to use the LetterBomb hack. In the guide by mauifrog, in the spoiler, it says,

    "3. Download the HackMii installer
You can use the mac address to build a custom hackmii installer at LetterBomb
MAKE SURE YOU SELECT YOUR REGION up top
If you get the captcha wrong, it will RESET your region. This happened to me. If you do, the installer, well,
in my case hung the wii. Had to hard boot it.
    4. Copy downloaded files to root directory of SD card. I used windows xp."

Number 4....."Copy downloaded FILES". The only file I see after downloading the HackMii installer is "boot.elf". Is there supposed to be more?

    Thanks for the help.

There should be a directory called "private" which in turn contains other directories (it goes 8-10 directories deep before getting to files).

That entire directory tree needs to be on the SD card as well. That contains the "letter" that gets bombed.

One more question. How do I copy my game to my laptop so I can create a backup? My DVD drive isn't reading the disc.

Most computers can't read Wii disks. Only a small number of DVD drives that were available in 2006 or 2007 could do so. The chances of finding one that does now is slim (and I don't think any of them were laptop drives).

Check the FAT32 and NTFS guides linked in my signature for possible other suggestions on how to do what you are wanting to do.

Assuming you are saying your problems is the drive and not the disc I would suggest replacing the DVD drive in your wii. It is not difficult and a replacement drive only costs around $30.
