Question formating an external hard drive

hi everyone, just a quick question, I want to know if it is nessassary to format an external hard drive to fat 32 with 32kb clusters, (which I always do before adding wbfs partition) or can I just add the wbfs partition threw wii backup manager, on the stock format(500gb+ hd's)
thanks in advance for the replies!

You don't need a WBFS partition at all. The USB loaders can read the .wbfs files from either FAT32 or NTFS.

You only need 32k clusters if you want to use Dios Mios or Devolution to play GameCube games from USB. Otherwise the cluster size doesn't matter.

We have FAT32 and NTFS guides available that might help. Both have links in my signature.
