Any idea why I couldn't post a system check? Been waiting on 'pending moderator approval' status since yesterday with no indication what happened or if something went wrong. Any way to check on the status while waiting or detect potential problems like typos? Wondering if something went wrong with the spoiler tag or something.

Anyway, looking through the system check, there were four stubbed IOSs: IOS4 (rev 65280), IOS10 (rev 768), IOS16 (rev 512) and IOS51 (rev 4864). Also, IOS36 was unpatched. I'm not sure how that fell through the cracks but I've since patched IOS36. Could any of those be causing problems with Devolution?

Due to the link on the bottom and you having a low post count, the post auto-moderated. I've approved your post.

You are missing a few cIOS files. Check the Softmod Any Wii guide and go through the start of Chapter 2, installing the contents of ModPack.zip, to install the entire set of recommended cIOS files.

In most cases, we don't suggest that people go around mucking around with IOS's individually. 4, 10, and 51 should be stubbed, but 16 is a patched IOS on my system, as is 36.

To get those to a recommended set, in addition to doing ModPack.zip in Chapter 2, also do the IOS Update.zip pack and install that set of 25 wads. That will get you to a recommended full set of IOSs and cIOSs.

Plenty of stuff to work with here so I'll see how it goes and let you know how it turns out.
Unfortunately I didn't discover this site until after I started softmodding my Wii so some things were done before I saw the softmodding guide.
    Thanks for the response.

When I extracted the IOS Uptate pack, it created the subfolder called IOS-Update in the WAD folder on my SD card so it didn't overwrite any existing WADs. Is that where those WADs are supposed to be or should I move them out of the subfolder and into the WAD folder? Thanks.

Yes. That is where they are supposed to be, in a separate directory from Mod Pack's .wad files, so when you do the bulk installs, you do them as a directory and they get installed in the intended order. (Did you read the guide that contains those .wad packs?)
