modmii? does anyone here use it?

Hey guys Im hanging the kick me sign on my back here i think but I have been going around in circles all day with this. maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.
    here is what I have:
stock Wii running 4.3 (not online)
2gb pny sd card formatted to fat32
    windows 7 64bit pc
    1tb wd mybook external hdd

the goal is to play wbfs games from the external hdd. after reading around and following a bunch of guides I downloaded, installed and ran modmii following tutorials online. everything went fine and I copied the produced files to the root of my sd card. after putting the card in the wii nothing happens...I read it is supposed to download everything I need and autorun after I insert the card into the wii. but it did nothing. I searched the card in the sd card menu and it shows no files on the card at all. so color me confused. I go to join here and see the guides here are not for modmii but seems like you have to manually install everything one at a time.

Im no hacker by any means but I am pretty pc savvy and I think I can follow instructions very well as I have been a tinkerer for a long time. just wondering if this modmii is actually working the way it is supposed to for others or am I completely following the wrong method to hack my wii?
If so should I be using the guide here or will modmii get me their in the easiest possible way?

You should just use the Softmod ANY Wii guide in my signature, it is a much better way to guarantee a good Softmod...plus if you have issues we can help you...ModMii can't.

thanks man I really appreciate the help. and for not jumping down my throat because I asked a newb question. I think most people see the guides plain as day I know i did. but even a simple guide can be extremely confusing to someone who is unfamiliar with the terminology used. so even though I knew the guide was there and I even read through it briefly it merely gives instructions it does not give answers to questions. In the course of spending 8 hours in research and preparation for something like this by the end of the day your brain is on overload and details become muddied. and maybe the best thing is to just let it go until the next day. but in the course of reading lines of text over and over written in different ways by different authors eventually somehow the simplest of things can slip by. and the next thing you know your getting kick me,d.

Anyhow I think I have found the answer to my misunderstanding of how modmii works. tried to ask in my introduction thread but that did not go so well. So if i understand correctly modmii does download everything I need but it does not complete the "exploit/hack" I first need either "letterbomb" or "game exploit" before the wii can began to see and install everything downloaded by modmii. am I correct that these are the only 2 ways to begin hacking my wii?

I gave you a link to the ModMii guide and explained the Introduction section is pretty much for introductions. I fail to see the veiled reference, just as I see your unwillingness to read the guide I linked you to for ModMii.

Yes, the hacking process is not automated. You will have to actually do it yourself. If a program ever claims that it does all the work for you (not saying ModMii does such a thing) it is lying.

Dude who said I was unwilling to read the guide? obviously you did not see that I said I already read the guide. in fact I read both of the guides long before I posted the questions. you cant just expect everybody to fully understand every single step of the guide just by reading them. thats why there are forums is it not? Not everyone who wants to hack a wii is a hacker. I dont write python code for ten hours a day im just a lowly gamer. Try having a little patience with someone who is here trying to learn everything in a single day and has never jailbroken a console. there is no need to be rude. you have the tone of someone is either sick of moderating or just has zero tolerance. it really does not reflect good on this forum. which is fine i suppose if you do not want knew members. thanks for the help snes_master

I guess what I'm getting it is if you have questions relating to one or the other guides, we'd expect to see those questions in a given guide. Wouldn't that be the logical expectation? Pretty common sense approach in my book, but hey --- it's just the internet, right?

Success... It really was something stupid like I figured. I was not seeing the letterbomb listed because I needed to scroll back one day on the message calendar... easy as that now the wii is hacked and themed. success with tatsunoko vs capcom tested. now to start making some wbfs files.
