Um Hi? having trouble with IOS223 Guitar Hero

I have no idea how this works...

OK. Um if I'm doing some sort of wrong thread thing then just delete it and ban me D:
I have been trying to solve this problem for months and I have done as much research as I can; I'm sorry if this issue has already been solved and put away!

So I'm trying to load a backup of Guitar Hero Smash Hits and play it with a RockBand guitar.

I was trying to play it through NeoGamma for the longest time, but I realized that it's impossible because I can't load the game disc using 222 or 223. I can only use 249 with NeoGamma correct?

So I got WiifFow and a WBFS USB drive and loaded Smash Hits and AC-DC Live Track Pack up with IOS223. And now I can use a microphone, just not my guitar. My Guitar Dongle has gotten power and connected to the guitar, but none of the player assignment buttons light up, just the guitar logo on the guitar, making it un-usable.

I do need to use IOS223 correct? I've tried IOS222 as well but I thought I read somewhere that I needed 223.

In addition my guitar does work with a retail copy of Beatles RockBand.

I've also noticed 223 and 222 are often discussed together, why is this? Are they the same in some way or just similar?

I don't know where to turn and I'm out of Google searches, please help!
Thank you and please be understanding of my n00bness!

P.S. It isn't that my guitar just isn't compatible with the game right? I didn't think this was the case because it would not connect with the Rock Band AC-DC Track Pack either.

    From our Music guide:

    ALL GUITAR HERO GAMES
    what these games run on
cios 223 base 38 merged with base 37 Hermes v4
    cios 248 base 56 d2xv7

How to install it if you dont have it!!

Go HERE for the d2x Guide
Go HERE or HERE for Hermes
So 223 is the right thing to use. The first thing that jumps into my mind is that your cIOSs may be incomplete or out of date.

Check my signature for how to generate and post a syscheck, and someone can tell you for sure what's going on, and what you need to do to correct it, if it's something obvious.

    Thanks

Perfect thanks! Think I'll make a site donation

Would it be easier to switch to 248?

I'll post my system check in a minute, but I don't know how to insert it as a spoiler :/

Your cIOS's are a bit out of date.

I would check out the link in my signature to Soft Mod Any Wii guide, and jump to Chapter 2 where you install the contents of ModPack.zip (a bundle of 30 wads).

Some of your IOS's (those numbered less than 100) aren't where they should be either, so I would recommend you also install the IOS Update.zip bundle (also part of chapter 2).

Once those are in place, then try the 223 again on your game.

That's what 223 should look like when you are done. See how it says [38 + 37]? That's what you're looking for from what I linked above:
