Exclamation I think I screwed up the softmod.

Okay, this is a long story, but I will try to keep it short without omitting details.

I have a black Wii, purchased last year, running 4.3U. I decided to attempt modding it yesterday.

So, my fiance and I followed this guide outside link removed
Here's where the mistake came in:

I managed to get an NES emulator working, but upon attempting to install the channel forwarder I got that nasty "Exception (DSI) occured!" message.

So what did I decide to do? Uninstall and reinstall Bootmii and Homebrew, of course!

Obviously, I got the error when trying to uninstall. Despite this, they did uninstall, but now I can't reinstall.

I have tried everything from reformatting the SD card and wii, to attemping to boot DOP mii and Casper. Nothing works. selecting most options result in DSI or ISI exceptions.

Is there any way to fix this, or am I just screwed on the modding now?

I'm confused with all the installing and uninstalling (which is something you should really never do unless specifically told to, otherwise you get into situations such as the one you are in now).

So, what works, what doesn't work. Do you have HBC working to get into apps? Can you get into Wii Menu? Know the version of the Wii Menu?

If the answers to these are all yes, then you should be able to run through our modding guide (Softmod Any Wii guide, link in signature). Don't try to uninstall anything else, just install things from the top down.

If the answer to the second one is "No", then we may have to defer you to Maufrog, our anti-brick master.

Also, forum rules prohibit posting external links. We don't need to know which guides are bad. If it's not here, we already know it is. That's why your post was moderated until a mod removed it.

Okay, gotcha (on the link note)

I know it's on 4.3U.. is that any different than the Wii Menu version? x.x

The Wii Menu works, as does all Nintendo Channels and will still run Wii games. Pretty much what it did when I purchased it. I do not have HBC on the Wii to get into apps.

OK. Then you can start at the top of the guide to get HBC reinstalled, then go on from there.
