when loading a game backup from usb my wii still tries to access the dvd drive

i have a hardware chipped wii, and have tried to softmod it so my young son can play games from the hdd (as he tends to scratch the disc)
I have installed the homebrew channel and attempted to use the loaders
    the wii was using 3.6
i think when I have attempted to softmod it I have done something wrong with the ios? not that I really understand it to be honest..
the wii will recognise the game backup on usb but the best result i seem to get is when i start loading the game it attempts to read the dvd drive

can you advise how i upload the current state of my wii ios info etc as i have seen other users do?

possibly show me how to rectify the situation?

hopefully you can make sense of my rambling post and thanks for your time

If you aren't sure about the status of your mod, your best to remod it using a gude that works.

See the Softmod Any Wii guide linked in my signature. Don't try to undo, delete, format, anything. Just go through the guide from the top down and include all "optional if not 4.3 menu" pieces. It will overwrite all IOS's to a good set, overwrite all cIOS's to a good set, give you the latest shopping channel so you can access it again post-mod and install Menu 4.1.
