Configurable USB Loader freezes while installing some games

Hello.. I am a first time Wii Modder, so I really have no idea what I am doing - just to get that up front.

I installed ModWii using the letterbomb on a 4.3u system with the USB-loader settings and config files stored in the USB drive. I followed the Recommended settings and chose No to "update active IOSs" and to "Install a cMIOS". My USB HD is a Seagate FreeAgent 320gb drive formatted to FAT32 through Linux fdisk/mkdosfs.

Everything seems to have gone fine and I was able to rip "Super Mario Brothers" and ""Wheel of Fortune" to the drive through the Configurable USB-Loader. However, when I try to rip "WiiFit", "MarioKart", "Arcade Zone" or any game over 1gb it seems, the install will freeze at a certain percentage. "Arcade Zone" for instance freezes at 5.55% out of 1.36gb every time. These are brand new games that I have purchased and never touched the playing surface. They all play fine. I even deleted SMB from the drive and re-ripped it to make sure that still worked and it copied fine.

I tried doing a search, but I didn't find anything that sounded similar to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You don't have the full set of cIOS files installed. What you have seem to be from various collections.

I'd suggest that you look for the Softmod Any Wii guide (link in my singature) and go through Chapter 2.

After that, see if that clears things up.

If not, maybe it's not liking something on your hard drive? Not all hard drives are compatible.

Hmmm... I followed ModWii's recommendations. Oh, well.. I'll take a look at your guide and see what that does for me tonight. Thank you.

OK, so I understand installing the 30 WADs in the ModPack. Do I need to follow the Downgrade to 4.1 instructions and the Priiloader installation instructions as well. I did install Priiloader through the ModWii setup.

After I do this, can I repost a new .csv from SysCheck to make sure I have everything right? Thanks....

4.2 and 4.3 offer no increased functionality, merely anti-homebrew. If you do downgrade to 4.1, a few types of bricks (not all, only a few) can be fixed by an update. So if you downgrade, it would give you increased options should one of those type of bricks ever hit your Wii. Yes you may post a new one.

OK... I installed the WADs as per Chapter 2 as directed and this is the SysCheck report:

    Spoiler

I didn't place the AP-V5 files on an SD card yet, I wanted to know if I can install them to the USB drive or do they HAVE to go on the SD card.

Also, after I installed the WADs (I still can't believe I am saying that sentence ), I tried to run the USB Loader that I had previously installed though the ModWii tutorial. It is still hanging on large games.

Would I have better luck with one of the Loaders installed by the AP-V5 pack?

The drive is a Seagate FreeAgent 320, which the I read (somewhere) was compatible as long as that stupid spin-down setting was disabled.

    Thanks, guys.
