Question DSI error when extracting Homebrew Browser images? New SD card, HBC + apps on it work

    Hi

I have recently hacked my Wii following the detailed guide 'How to soft mod any Wii' here on the forums.

Everything is going great. I installed the app packs too and I have been able to play backup games from my flash drive.

I would like to get the most from homebrew I can, and I saw the Homebrew Browser @ Homebrew Browser - WiiBrew, so I downloaded from that page (on the right hand side) and followed the instructions to install it.

Following the instructions I was able to get the text screen to load which gave me the option to download images, which it recommends, and I downloaded them but halfway through extracting them it gives me a DSI error.

I have read this may be as a result of a corruption or problem with the SD card, but my Sandisk 2GB SD card was literally bought yesterday, it runs the homebrew channel fine and the other app pack I installed along with everything else using the softmod guide.

How can I remedy this? Please tell me I do not have to go through everything I did in the softmod guide all over!

Post a syscheck (directions on how to do so are in my signature) so we can see if something was missed.

Even if you do have to remod, if you still have the NAND backup, it is a 5-10 min process.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

I was advised to try again with both USB ports empty, and this gave the same error but after pressing reset and trying to run the Homebrew Browser again it worked

I do not think the guide mentions ensuring the USB ports are empty.

That shouldn't matter. I've never had problems with HBB while my USB was attached.

I'd still like to see a syscheck.

I was able to install some apps fine but it suddenly gave me the 'Exception (DSI) occurred!, lots of GPRxx and hex afterwards, then STACK DUMP - more hex, CODE DUMP - more hex.

I will post back with the syscheck.
