After all that, I don't know what state your system is in. You have 4.3. Got that much.

Are you able to fully access the Wii Menu? Do you have access to HBC?

What doesn't work that makes you say it's semi-bricked?

the answer to your first question is yes, and for the second, it is yes as well, but in homebrew, all i can see is this screen where you use the wii remote to pop bubbles (the same screen as before iupdated the wii)

    when i say 'semi-bricked', i mean:
    • can use disk
    • can use homebrew (but only to pop bubbles)
    • can open neogamma and cfg, but freezes on the screen
    • cfg and neogamma doesn't allow me to play the games

    cfg is version
    v57a
    249

    neogamma is R9 beta53 IOS249

    homebrew is
    1.0.8
    IOS58 v24.32

oh yeah, for some reason, this popped up:

    IMG_0773.jpg
    it says
    "BEWARE OF SHARKS
    WITH LASER BEAMS ATTACHED
    TO THEIR HEADS"

    the main screen is now:

    thanx

OK. sounds like you are not bricked at all, it's just that your homebrew isn't working.

My guess is (and this is what I said from the start) that you just have to remod your system. Did you do that yet?

You're pretty much asking the same thing here. A little redundant, isn't that?

oh yeah, my homebrew always has the bubble popping screen, so it bprobably isn't the homebrew's fault. it is only the CFG which isn't working.

by the way, what's a 'syscheck'?

if it isn't the homebrew's fault, what is it and how do you fix it (WITHOUT HAVING TO OVERWRITE THE PROGRAM)

    thanx

my friend told me that on the wii, if i cannot use the old game in my original external hard drive, then it is best not to re-mod it, so...

question 1: will the same games used by the configurable usb loader v57a 249 be still able to be used on a latest edition cfg or a usb loader GX or any other program used to read games from a external hard drive? which one?

question 2: how can you 'downdate' a wii???

question 3: is it possible to downdate one level at a time so that i can try if my cfg can work or not (during my stop at a level)?

    thanx so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you still have CFG v57. Your mod is old, your apps are old.

Check the softmod any wii guide (link in my signature -- as is how to generate and post a syscheck) and go through it in entirety.

We recommend that you go to menu 4.1 as part of the guide. If you have higher, you don't have to downgrade if you don't want, but still recommended. If you have lower than 4.1, we highly suggest that you install 4.1 menu per the guide.
