Restored bricked wii with bootmii ios, need to re-softmod?

    My story
I finished hacking my friend's wii, using the Softmod any wii guide, making the wii backup in the process. Bootmii installed as ios.
I tried editing a Wii theme and I'm sure I did everything right when packing it. Just not sure what I was doing when editing the tpl files. So I had my friend install it, but it caused a brick.
So we used the nand backup and priiloader to load bootmii ios. Using the konami code, we restored the wii's nand with restoremii.

    My question
But now all the forwarder channels are gone and only The Homebrew Channel remains, with default channels. Do we have to softmod the wii again?

    Other question:
I heard that using ios to restore the nand is dangerous. But was there any other alternatives besides using bootmii to restore the nand?

Doing an IOS bootmii restore was a bad idea. I heard it was dangerous, but it worked.
The brick was caused by a bad theme, I read somewhere that all you had to do was install the original 4.3U system menu theme an it'll be unbricked. Not sure if that's true.

Now that the nand is fresh again, I wonder if we can install the "working" custom theme before we do the hacks again.

Edit: This article explains how to unbrick the three different types of possible bricks: http://www.wiihacks.com
