Us Any problem playing VC games after you softmod your Wii?

Hi gang! Long time lurker & 1st time poster. I've got a 1st run release Wii that has about 12 or so WiiWare (Castlevania Adventure, Alien Crush Redux) and VC games (like TG16 Castlevania, Super Metroid, etc) and I'm looking to softmod it soon to play some of the classics systems of old.

Will there be any problems with playing those previously purchased VC & WiiWare games on my Wii after I softmod it? I'd like to be able to just have them on an SD card and play them off there, right now they all fit on a 2GB SD card.

Anything I should be careful of before I mod to ensure these gems are still playable?

Thanks in advance for your help & advice, looking forward to being a part of the forums here.

Just copy your purchased content to your SD card using the Data Management -> Channels function of the Wii Menu, then you can launch them from the SD Card Menu (from Wii Menu) and they will be playable, even after your mod.

I have my system modded and still have access to all of the downloaded purchases from Wii Shop Channel (all stored on my SD, since they wouldn't all fit in system memory.)

EDIT: I just noticed that you posted this in the Wii U section. I've moved it to a more proper area with a self-expiring 24-hour redirect.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong section Llaffer & appreciate you moving it. Great news! Glad to hear I'll still be able to play them. Though once it IS softmodded, you can no longer buy from the Virtual Console correct?

    Thanks a million.

If you update the Wii Shop Channel to v21 (we have guides that will show you how to do that manually, and it's also part of the "Softmod Any Wii" guide as an optional step), then yes, you can still go into Wii Shop to buy and download content just as you would on a non-modded system.
