    Question CFG USB Loader wont save setting to USB HDD

    Hi, Pretty sure i have messed up somewhere.

    I followed this guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

    When I start the CFGUsbLoader via the Loader it always ask what my device is USB HDD or SD, then when i try to make changes to the settings, or download game covers these are always stored on the SD ! If i remove the SD, then the cover/settings cannot be saved !

    Like I say, i've messed up somewhere.

    Can anyone help me out..

    Thanks

    Why start another thread that involves an existing guide? And why does your statement defy logic? If you're saving covers etc to your SD card and then remove the SD card, of course it won't be able to display or save them. I think you're leaving things out or not adequately explaining the situation...

    "Why start another thread that involves an existing guide?" - Just attempting to put some perspective around the what I have been doing.

    "I think you're leaving things out or not adequately explaining the situation.." - Not intentionally

    Ok, So I have a game on my USB HDD, which works fine, yes the covers are stored on the SD card, I honestly thought that the intention would be to have the games and covers stored on the same device....In my case I would like this to be the USB HDD device.

    I have followed the "earlier metioned guide" before...the only difference i can recall is the the CFG USB Loader was not installed as a 'dol' ?

    So any help/assistance would be gratefully received

    Thanks

    Did you follow the FAT32 USB HD guide? You can have them on the same device, yes.

    Hi, Yes I followed the FAT32 USB HD Guide - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ide-fat32.html

    I dont have an actual problem playing the game from the USB HD, the issue I have is that the settings that I make in CFG USB Loader are saving on the SD Card - I'd prefer them to be saved on the USB HD. Its not clear to me how I can change this functionalility.

    Thanks for your reply

    Ahh. I somehow do have my settings saved on USB, I think. When I'm at my system next, I'll look around to see if I can figure out how I did that.

    I had the same problem, I also followed the same guide but every time I started the cfg usb loader it said it's cfg files would be saved to sd://usb-loader the way I got around it was I created a folder usb-loader on the root of my HDD and created a config.txt file with

    device = usb
    covers_path = usb:/usb-loader/covers

    Saved that in the usb-loader folder and connected it back to my wii and now it works perfect

    Hope this helps you & I didn't break any rules as this is my first help post

    Yeah. I couldn't figure out how to set it after looking at my config, so I was going to suggest just copying your sd:/usb-loader directory to the usb:/usb-loader directory and deleting it off of the SD card, and see if it just "picks it up".

    I don't even have a "covers_path" in my config.txt, I think if it's not set, it's derived from the base location.

    You can view the base location in CFG by pressing "1" and making sure you have INFO selected. It will be line 2 of the data shown on the left side of the screen, just under the version number.

    That is correct. Anything added to the config.txt file overrides default values. Another way to further customize CFG is to use the configurator. Download from HERE and extract to your usb-loader folder.
