4.1 just leaves more options open to you in the future than 4.3.
Anything any games require that may be part of a system update are all included in the "Softmod Any Wii" guide, so as long as you followed that, your system is current. Menu level has nothing to do with the IOSs installed once you've modded it.
I've softmodded my Wii to 4.1E one year ago using the guides on WiiHacks, haven't been playing on my Wii for a while and I think my cIOS, IOS and the apps on my SD card is out of dateQuote:
