SD card failed - needs to be reformatted. Have NAND backup, etc. What do I do next?

I tried to load a backup game using WiiFlow but it just kept kicking me back to the Wii homescreen. When I connect the SD card to my computer, it tells me that it needs to be reformatted.

Should I reformat? If so, what should I do next? I followed the Softmod Any Wii thread and load my game backups from an external HD.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm kind of slow with these things.

What format is your SD? When does the black screen occur? When you launch WiiFlow or when you launch the game? What game is it? What format is the HDD? And post a sysCheck as well, please.
