    USB No Longer Works

    Hello, Wiihacks!

I have Sandisk Cruzer 16GB usb stick that used to work with loading games via USB Loader GX using fat32 format with a wbfs folder on the device. I needed to use the flash drive with my xbox recently which required the xbox to "configure" the device, I saved all of my games temporarily to my computer. After I was done using the usb drive with my xbox, I reformatted the device to fat32 with 32kb clusters. I recreated a wbfs folder, and put my games back into it. I tried to load up USB Loader GX but when starting it comes to the 'initialize usb stage' and just hangs for about 2 minutes. The app continues to load, but I am only able to load my gamecube games (they are stored on my sd card and launched via Devolution). I deleted USB Loader GX, installed the newest revision of it, and also installed the newest d2x beta 10 cios on ios249 and ios250. Can someone please help me brainstorm of what I am doing incorrectly? I tried loading up with wiiflow, it will not recognize the flash drive, but configurable usb loader does (and loads them). However, I really would like to continue to use USB Loader GX.

    I appreciate any help, Thanks!

Check to make sure that it truly is a single partition, active, primary (not logical). You can use EaseUS to do that (and make the change if required). Free Download Magic Partition Manager freeware: EaseUS Partition Manager, Disk & Partition Copy and Partition Recovery Software.

I confirmed using EaseUS that there is only one partition and it is the primary one.

Did you delete the usbloader gx config files as well? If not you need to.

Yes, when I got the new revision of USB Loader GX I deleted the entire usbloader_gx folder inside of apps. I believe that is the only place that config files are stored for USB Loader GX, correct?

That's correct...this is a long shot, but are you loading from HBC or a forwarder? Also which IOS does your USB GX run on? It seems to me that something is up with the USB drive considering it worked until you use it on the X-Box but it doesn't hurt to throw out some ideas

Older versions of GX put the config files in in the sd/config folder. Check to see if you have that, and if so, delete it.

Just checked, no config file. Well I sorta gave up, converted my wbfses in isos and now I am using the Wii Backup File to add them to my wbfs formatted drive, added them again right now, I will post on how it turns out. Thanks for the help so far.

Maybe if you try backing up formatting the SD card too? (I'm just spit balling...kinda too tired to think lol)

Of try using GX for a different IOS? There are versions for 222, 249 and 250. If one doesn't work right maybe another will?

I am forwarding from priiloader, but I have tried running it from the homebrew channel to the same effect. I am running on ios249. (Sorry didn't see your post!) I also am liking the royal treatment haha, with all of the staff replying Appreciate it guys.

It loads past the initialize usb section while bootings really quickly with the usb formatted as wbfs, but when the program actually starts it says it displays the no usb error message.
