Softmod Wii using usb loader GX 3 and latest dios mios Gamecube game problem-Ikaruga

This is probably a noob question since I've just updated the latest usb loader gx and am attempting to play a gamecube game for the first time.
My old usb loader gx install worked great, but it didn't have GC capability, so I thought I'd try the new version.

I ripped my own Ikaruga to the SD card and installed it using usb loader gx.

I started the game and it asked if I wanted to use interlaced. I picked yes. It worked until I selected 'play game', then it crashed out to a screen that told me to reset the gamecube and read my owners manual.

Since this first time, I haven't been able to get Ikaruga to run at all. It just reboots the wii. My questions are, where is that interlaced setting saved? Or, is that the problem?

I removed all of the usb loader gx files and tried again, but it's the same thing - reboot the wii.

Any help locating the Ikaruga save file would be great! I looked on the gamecube memory card, but that save hasn't been updated in a few months, and this just happened yesterday.

Progression/Interlaced settings are not saved. If the system detects you can run at 480p, it will ask every time you boot the game up. Though, if you have 480p, not sure why you'd want to run at 480i, but to each their own.

Which version of gx are you running (v3.0 r____?) and which version of Dios Mios did you install? And did you install Dios Mios or Dios Mios Lite?

And finally, how did you install the game to the SD card for GX to use? DMToolbox?

I'm glad that it's not the interlaced setting, but that makes it a bigger mystery as to why it booted the game the very first time, but it just resets now.

Here is the info:

USB Loader GX 3.0 r1180
System menu 4.0U (just in case)
MIOS v10 Original

Using USB Loader GX, I popped in the game and it asked me if I wanted to install it. I said yes, and it ripped the game and put it on the SD card.

Maybe there is some combination of gamecube controller/memory card being hooked up at a certain time?

Are you using Dios Mios? or Devolution?

Dios Mios (reading from USB drive) and r1180 don't work well together. It presumes that you have Dios Mios Lite, thus installing and trying to read from the SD card. Should work just fine if you have DML, but if you have DM, I'm more surprised that it almost worked once.

Check the links in my signature and make sure that you have DM (or DML, if you choose) 2.6 installed with the latest GX.

Having a look at your syscheck may not hurt, either. Just in case something needs to be updated.

Well, I have some progress.. Now I'm getting 'apploader size is zero'. I installed the sd card DML 2.6+

That's also an indicator that you're using an old loader that doesn't know how to handle DM 2.2+. Did you update your version of GX to 1209 using the link in my sig?

Yep, I used the 222 since that seems to be the one usb loader gx likes to default to. There are several more options available now, but I still get the same error.

Also, when the usb loader ripped the game, it's just a single iso file in a folder. Is that all that I need?

Are you loading via HBC or Forwarder? If you are using an outdated forwarder it causes issues with the loader for some reason.

HBC to USB LoaderGX to Ikaruga. I'm doing a reinstall of the game right now with DMToolbox. The one that came with DMLite wouldn't run, and the one from the DIOS MIOS website was missing a .dll, but I have that taken care of. Now to see if that makes a difference!
I may also try re-ripping the game just in case something got screwed up when I first ran it.

If you still can't get DM + USB Loader GX you may want to look into Devolution.
