Wii moded but its not Region Free

hi,

I am new to this. Wii is the first console I ever bought i am a PC gamer.

Wii and the mod was sent to me from uk. I installed the mod. The mod i got, one of its features was that it makes Wii region free.

But when i tried to run a NTFS game it asked me for update. I have read in different guides that never update modded wii so I didnt do it. After a while I got PAL version of the same game and it worked perfectly.

the mod I bought was the most expensive one: anyone knows why it failed to make my wii region free?
