Having Trouble with GC on Softmodded Wii

Hello

I recently softmodded my Wii using Mauifrog's "Guide:Softmod ANY Wii" and I followed that guide to the 't'.

It says on that guide that GC games can simply be loaded through the disk channel without any other necessities.

So, I had a backup of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker lying around from when I still had my Gamecube.
I tried sliding that into the Wii Disk Slot and running it through the disk channel.

The Wii recognizes the presence of a GC game, but it will not load. It simply takes me back to the Wii start screen after a quick flash of white.
I bought my Wii in 2007 so it's not an issue of the diskdrive. It is not new enough to have that issue.

Can anyone help me figure this one out?

And when you tried your retail/original disc in the drive....

Sadly I the original was lost when I moved to from NY to the South...

I'd suggest finding it, you'll never know if it's the disc drive or the mod causing the issue if you don't have a retail disc to try.

More sadly, if you don't own the retail/original, we can't help you (as this would be tantamount to facilitating piracy).
