If you have data on one SD card and just want to copy the data to a larger one, if you can mount both SD cards at the same time, dragging and dropping from one to the other will work just fine (after making sure the new card is formatted the way you want).

If you only have one mount point, then you can drag and drop the content from the old SD card to a temp folder on your computer's hard drive, then drag and drop them back to the new SD card.

I've done this a dozen times with Wii SD cards, DSi SD cards, and 3DS SD cards. Once mounted, the device won't even know it's a new SD card as long as the files are in the same relative position to root, other than the increase in free space.

Yes, in fact Llaffer would be more than happy to accompany you to your local store, to help in making the purchase.

A SanDisk branded SD card is usually recommended. The highest capacity the Wii will take, I think, is 32gig.

The only thing left to choose your card is its class, which usually ranges from 2-10. The higher the class, the faster the read/write speed.

I usually will pick up class 10 32gig cards from Amazon for $20-$25. I have a total of 5 of them in use right now (Wii, Wii U, and 3 3DS's).

If all you're going to do is launch small HB apps, speed isn't as important. If you're going to load larger files from it, like GameCube imgaes to run from DML, you'll want the faster card.
